Review of the redragon g807 12 button wired gamepad

In this article, I will provide you with a review of the Redragon G807 12 button wired gamepad

…which is an alternative to the XBox 360/PS3/PC and Nintendo Wii style gamepads.

This review is designed to help you decide…

…whether or not you need a wired gamepad for your PC and if so, which one you should get.

If you’re a gamer, you already know about gamepads…

…those small, wired or wireless controllers that allow you to play your video games…

…with the ease and comfort of a real controller.

This wired gamepad offers 12 buttons (include 2 shoulder triggers)…

…and is designed for use with PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii…

…Nintendo DS, and other wired game systems.

The included cable allows you to use the gamepad even if there is no nearby TV or monitor.

The Redragon G807 comes in a hard plastic case with foam lining…

…to protect the buttons and ensure long life.

One quick look at the list of features…

…will tell you this is no ordinary game controller.

The G807 has a whopping 12 buttons!

That means you can assign any of the twelve face buttons…

…to perform any of 12 different actions. Like the humble 1-button mouse…

…the G807 can be used for a variety of purposes.

It’s perfect for console-style gaming, of course…

…but it also works great with PC games and programs.

Plus, the G807 has a full set of digital controls…

…making it a versatile tool for controlling…

…various aspects of your multimedia or PC applications.

Here are a few words from Eric…

My name is Eric and I am a computer nerd with a passion for gaming.

When I discovered a certain wireless game controller called the “Redragon G807”…

…I was absolutely blown away.

Not only did this little gadget turn my home into the world’s best arcade…

…it also made video gaming more enjoyable than ever before.

Now let’s jump right in!

Review of the Redragon G807 12 Button Wired Gamepad

I’ve been using this gamepad for about a month now and I must say…

…that it is the best one I’ve ever used. It’s small and light weight with an easy-to-use set of controls.

The buttons are high quality and work great. It has a good range of motion too.

The design is very good and looks expensive.

The wrist strap is nice and comfortable.

It comes with a long cable so you can put it in a bag or even your pocket.

The Redragon G-807 is one of those game controllers…

…that, in my opinion, every gamers need to have.

Why? Because the buttons and controls on most video game controllers are perfect as they are.

The G-807 changes all that by adding shoulder buttons…

…a thumb stick, and two additional face buttons.

What this means is that you can now use this controller…

…with all the PC and console games that were made for a normal controller.

In other words, you no longer have to worry about getting chewed out…

…by your gamer friends for not having the “right” gamepad.

This is a great product if you are an action or fighting game fan…

…who wants to play your favorite games on your PC or console with the precise feel of an arcade machine.

However, it does come with a one-year warranty and it’s easy to order.

This is a wired gamepad with a total of 12 buttons. It’s a joy to use and looks great.

I tested it with my Xbox 360 and it works like a charm.

It comes with a USB cable and the software needed to configure it.

As you can see, this gamepad has twelve buttons.

These are the standard buttons you find on a video game controller.

There are also two more buttons here that are labeled as “menu” and “select”.

Some games use these two buttons for different things.

In most games, the menu button opens up a menu of options…

…and you use the select button to make your choice.

You can assign each of the buttons a different function.

If you are playing a first person shooter (like Call of Duty)…

…you can set the left stick to be the aim, the right stick to move…

…the left trigger to fire, the right trigger to reload, the back button to open the map…

…the start button to pause the game, and the menu button to open up a menu.

This controller has a nice, firm, crisp, responsive feeling to it and it is very easy to use.

It has a small but powerful motor that makes it easy to push the buttons.

This is a very well made gamepad with a comfortable and solid grip.

It has an excellent layout with large, easy to use buttons…

…and the shoulder buttons are all well placed and easy to access.

For those of you who have a large collection of video games, this is an excellent choice.

It is a quality product from a reliable company and it will serve you well for a long time.

Let’s take a look at this…

Wired vs. Wireless Gampepad

Review of the redragon g807 12 button wired gamepad

When buying a new controller, gamers have to decide whether they want a wired or a wireless controller.

The console manufacturer has to decide what kind of controllers are going to be included with their consoles.

A game developer who wants to sell a special controller with their game should consider the same thing.

Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to whether wireless or wired controllers are better.

We can get a better understanding of which option is best…

…by examining the differences between the two and their perceived pros and cons.

How About Lag with Wireless Controller?

When it comes to the debate between wireless and wired controllers…

…one of the biggest questions is whether wireless controllers suffer from lag.

As long as you have a high-quality controller, the lag tends to be minimal.

However, there will still be some lag present.

Most people won’t notice the lag, especially if they are playing a single-player game.

However, there can be some lag present in multiplayer games, such as sports games and shooters.

This is not a problem for most players.

For those who would like to have every possible advantage when gaming…

…a wired controller might be the way to go.

It is important to keep in mind that lag is not limited to controllers.

Even TVs and displays and the settings for those devices are capable of causing some lag.

Lag isn’t always the fault of the controller. In fact, sometimes…

…it is the player’s reaction time that causes lag, not the controller!

Go on…

Which Tends To Be Less Hassle?

This will depend on your idea of a hassle. With the wired controllers…

…you will have to contend with the wires themselves.

Some people do not like having wires running across the room…

…and they will choose a wireless option instead.

However, there are others who instead feel that continually charging a controller…

…or replacing batteries is more of a hassle.

Unless you are using rechargeable batteries, it can also end up being more expensive.

When making a decision, you will want to think about which of these…

…you feel to be more of a hassle not only for yourself…

…but for any customers if you plan to sell the controllers.

“When it comes to durability, you will find that there is really not much of a difference between the two options, as long as they have been made by a quality manufacturer. They can last for a long time with basic care.”

 Sum Up!

With the G807 wired gamepad, there is no need for batteries!

Simply connect it to your USB port on your computer or notebook, turn it on and you are ready to go.

The gamepad comes with a short power cord that allows you to use it almost anywhere.

Connecting this gamepad to your notebook or desktop is simple.

All you have to do is plug the included short power cord into your USB port.

After that, all you have to do is push one of the buttons…

…and the corresponding letter or number on the gamepad…

…will appear on your computer or notebook screen.

It is lightweight and compact and weighs only 37 grams.

So, if you are looking for a wired gamepad that will give you the edge…

…when playing computer or console games, this is the one you should get!

Conclusion

The G807 has a great layout. It’s got a nice solid feel to it and all the controls are easy to find and use.

The buttons are large and responsive. There’s an on/off switch at the top…

…which I didn’t use but could see how it would be useful.

One thing to watch out for is that when you first unbox this controller…

…there’s a little sticker on the bottom that needs to come off before you can use the controls.

It’s really easy to misplace and it will frustrate you until you discover that little annoyance.

Other than that, the only real gripe I have about this controller is the cable.

It’s rather short and can get in the way when you’re playing certain games.

But, that’s a very minor quibble. If you’re looking for a solid wired gamepad at a great price, this is a good choice.
