Design and Construction of Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard

In terms of design and construction, the Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard appears…

…to be very good in all aspects when viewed from the front. The font used is what I call a “normal” font…

…which I prefer over the aggressive gaming font that we frequently see on other mechanical keyboards.

The construction is also solid, with no flex throughout the body thanks to the aluminum backplate.

It’s sturdy while remaining light in weight.

Layout of Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard

As previously stated, the Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard is a small mechanical keyboard…

…with 82 keys and a 75 percent layout. However, in order to achieve this form factor, some compromises must be made.

The delete key is also located near the backspace key, which is unusual.

There is also no dedicated print screen key, so you must use the function key in conjunction…

…with the end key to activate print screen. There is no space between the function and number keys…

…and the escape key is larger than usual. The height of the keycaps has also been adjusted…

…for a more ergonomic typing experience. All of these changes are being made to accommodate…

…this compact form factor, and I believe it will only be a matter of time before anyone can adjust typing with this layout.

keep going…

Switch and Keycaps of Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard

Now, let’s talk about the switches on this keyboard. As far as I know, the RGB version has two available switches…

…black and blue. What we have here is the Zorro black switch, which is another Cherry MX clone switch.

It’s linear, so there’s no clicky bump when you press on it, and the actuation force is rated at 60 grams…

…though I think it’s a little lighter. Having previously used blue switches, the experience is definitely new.

It’s not as satisfying as the blue switches, but I think I like this switch better because…

…I can type faster now with less intrusive noise.

RGB Lighting Modes of Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard

The RGB lighting of this keyboard is, I believe, one of its selling points when compared to other versions…

…of the Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard, which, by the way, come in a variety of colors and switch types.

When you plug in the mini USB, you’ll see a green boot up sequence, after which you can change…

…the lighting modes by pressing the FN+F8 keys. There are a whopping 19 lighting modes on this keyboard.

You can change the brightness by pressing FN + up and down in 5 levels, and you can change…

…the speed by pressing FN + plus or minus.

Hitting the FN + left arrow key will change the direction of the flow, while hitting the FN + right…

…arrow key will change the colors to a single color, with a total of 8 colors available.

Guys, the lighting modes don’t stop there; you can also customize your own by pressing the FN + tilde key combination.

Once inside the custom mode, press the same combination again to begin recording,

which will be indicated by the caps lock LED flashing. Start by pressing the keys you want to light up. You can press…

…them more than once to change the color if you want, and when you’re finished, press the FN + tilde key again to save.

You can now access your custom settings at any time by pressing the same key combination.

Other functions that can be used in conjunction with the FN key include FN + W to switch…

…between WASD and arrow keys and FN + windows to lock the windows key.

Performance of Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard

When it comes to the keyboard’s dependability, I didn’t experience any ghosting or key conflicts…

…while pressing multiple keys at the same time during my testing. All of the keys are correctly registered…

…and no unwanted keys are being registered. That is to say, it is excellent for gaming.

Speaking of gaming, the Ajazz AK33 Specs RGB Mechanical Keyboard performed admirably.

I have no complaints about playing with this keyboard; the keys are easy to press without making too much noise…

…making the gaming experience even more enjoyable, at least to my taste.

And finally…

Sum Up

To summarize, what I like about this keyboard is its form factor, which is a very compact and…

…portable design with a removable cable that you can bring with you anywhere.

When combined with the relatively silent linear black switch, you have a portable gaming or productivity experience.

I also like that it is true RGB with a ton of customization options via onboard memory and the user-friendly software.

Conclusion

The only drawback I can see with this keyboard is the inaccuracy of some of the lighter shade colors…

…which isn’t a deal breaker for me. So, if you’re looking for a good mechanical keyboard with 82 keys…

…and a 75 percent layout, I think this is a great budget option.
